We’ve had a master/starter combo on the drawing board for some time. Never pulled the trigger. Super compact. Would make a fun project when time allows.

It has taken a while, but a a large batch of hydraulic control board just arrived from the fab house.
I you've been waiting, the wait is over. Contact Louis at admin@gabrielenterpris.es directly if interested.

Jon,
Lots of 14V controllers on hand. More 28V controllers are being worked.
stay tuned.

Thanks Chris!

I'll be first in line for a 28v. Much appreciated on all the hard work!

It has been a while since Tom wasn't sold on this idea. Does anyone have experience with this or other solid state controller replacements and is anyone sold on this idea now?

Just planning out to install Chris' solid state gear-hydraulic controller and thinking about replacing the older relays.

Erno,
The design of a solid state master/starter idea brings with it some additional complexity. And the current demands are an order of magnitude greater than for the pump. There have been other market offerings that soon disappeared.
On the flip side, MOSFETs have been getting better literally every year with ever lowering internal losses. This means less heat generation and the ability for a higher packaging density.
And FWIW, the EarthX batteries connect the terminals via MOSFETs.

Chris,

Does the pump controller support the GearMinder ?

What I mean is:
The GearMinder has a gear retract lockout feature, which functions as an airspeed switch.
It has a NO relay which connects to ground when lockout speed has been exceeded.
That puts it between the electrical ground and the gear-up relay For this to work, the control voltage of the relays cannot share a common ground, as follows:
Landing Gear Wiring.PNG

(and if it doesn't, that just means adding a relay inline with the gear switch, which aside from the added component, might actually simplify wiring)
