Thanks for the kind words Paul! Just so you know, the ABS enclosure is UL94V-0 rated (self-extinguishing). I wanted to minimize any possibility of a short while retaining good fire retardant properties.

OK Louis, I sort of knew posting that comment was risky given the thought that went into the device. But, my issue is answered and to be added to the spec sheet. thanks for the wonderful design. I will jack the plane up soon and test the connections then test the gear operations with some video.

Hi Chris,

Looks great! I need one for sure. Any issues with having it forward of the firewall?

Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
The original intent was that the controller would be mounted in the cabin close to the hydraulic pump. Most pumps will be in the cabin somewhere. As a result, not all components are rated to 200+ degF that can be encountered in the engine compartment.
All boards are screened at 140F.

Chris,
I was afraid of that. Yes, I had planned to put it next to the hyd pump and battery, but those are going to be up in the engine compartment too. Back to the drawing board.....
Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
-just an FYI.
The Parker hydraulic pump itself is rated to 140 deg F.The data sheet advises to consult Parker if you want to go above that.

Hi Jon,

You must have an interesting build to be able to move the hydraulic pump and battery to the forward side of the firewall and not have a center of gravity problem.
