Thanks Chris. Not sure yet what the temps are going to be up there or whether we'll put the hyd pump and other mechanicals in an enclosure/compartment protected from the "engine room"....but I do need that stuff up there for CG.

Or...it might be easier to leave the hyd pump alone and just move the engine even further forward! Love this stuff!!! ...but probably treading off topic here. I do like the balsa prop idea though! ;)

Could this be used in place of the solenoid on the IV?

It most likely can. Do have a pdf of the gear electrical schematic for the IV?

Chris,

I don't have a schematic available at the moment but I could forward one tomorrow. The IV uses valves to control gear and flaps. The solenoid operates the pump strictly according to the single pressure switch and only in a single direction. Quite simple electrically.

Bill,
That is what I suspected. In that case you would just use one side of the gear controller.

I have been told the pump used on Glasair retractables is basically the same pump. Therefore, this controller should work fine. Any comments?
