Roger,
Both the housing and pistons are aluminum.
The original Matco single piston caliper is 546g. The new triple piston caliper is 1015g.

Thanks Chris,

Was just little confused since you mentioned titanium.
I did not think its was lighter. But I assume you would redesign the dimension with titanium
and get the same strange and lower weight.

Hadn’t really considered titanium at the time. It would cost a fortune, for sure. Just for kicks, I looked up the cost of a bar on McMaster 1”x 3/4”x12”. $227. There are probably cheaper sources, but you get the idea

Wow, Chris. My legacy has Cleveland 30-133 brake assemblies with one piston and two 66-105 brake pads per wheel. No wonder braking is anemic. Steering is no problem but braking after landing is problematic at best. I don't suppose my Legacy setup would be compatible with your caliper? The master cylinders might need to be bigger to accommodate three pistons, too. I wonder if Cleveland makes a larger caliper that would improve braking efficiency and would be a drop-in replacement for their 30-133 brake assembly? Anyone?

Chuck, try a search on "Legacy+Cleveland+brakes" and there are a lot of topics. I think we should move this discussion on Legacy brakes to Legacy forum or the maintaining forum for brakes.
