WTB: Looking for 360 Propeller

Sat Nov 30, 2019 8:32 am

We are in the building stage where it is time to look for a propeller. It doesn't have to be new or freshly overhauled. Our engine is a Lycoming IO-360-A1B. Let us know if you have one available.

Thanks,
Stefan

Did you try Lancair directly. I know they offer a very good discount. Ask them, you may be pleasantly surprised.

We will definitely do that if we can't find a used prop. Thanks for the suggestions.

Stefan,
Direct through Hartzell is approx. $15k, same prop going through Lancair Int. is 2/3 that cost. I just went through this and my prop gets shipped to me tomorrow.

Take a look at the f7666 blades. Mooney's require they are longer compared to the minimum allowed. What this means is this blade is available very cheap on the used market. I overhauled my prop after a strike replacing both blades. They cost $500 each blade. I think the whole overhaul cost me 3k. Johnson and Sons did the work for me and sourced the blades. Give them a call. You will also get better climb out of the f7666 vs the custom lancair prop (f7068). I have flown both on the same plane. The trade off is ground clearance is reduced for the f7666.
