This is a nice Lancair and it is back on the market. You may recognize this IV-P was for sale earlier this year and sold. Through no fault of the airplane it is for sale again by the same owner who has meticulously maintained it to his corporate standards.

Someone will now have an opportunity for a terrific airplane that they can fly today for years to come. First, everything works. It has AC and the engine was fully overhauled by Barrett only 200 hours ago. The panel is Chelton (with spares) and is a solid IFR panel that does not require anything to fly today. Cheltons are older but completely solid and reliable. Of course, you can update the panel but you don't need to. You can fly away and have another 1000 hours probably on the engine without doing anything.

The owner purchased this beautiful IV-P from the original owner, Jim Malach, in 2011 and has flown it since. Most of his trips were to Florida and back but that mission has changed and it is time for another airplane. I heard a Pitts mentioned. I'm sure it will be a sad day when it goes away after flying for so many years and the obvious care it has been getting.

The instrument panel was built 2 inches forward to accommodate bigger pilots. That is a "plus".

The owner reports that other respected Lancair builders describe the build as "elegant". Shane has flown 89GG for 1000 hours now and reports is has been a delight to own and fly. I do hear that from a lot of owners who do proper maintenance and take care of the details.
It is an amazing airplane that flies at 250KTAS at FL230 and 16.6 GPH. The pressurization system works flawlessly. The A/C system keeps the cabin nice and cool on any day below 100F. The engine has about 200 hours since a complete Barrett overhaul and is smooth and fast. I am frequently asked by controllers if I am a jet or turboprop. You can upgrade the panel and fix a few cosmetic issues and have a new airplane or just fly it as it is now.

I've looked at the cosmetics and it involves some leading edge chips and I'm making arrangements to have that addressed at a shop (when we can find one not booked out Brad!). Whatever you decide we will get it looking pretty and new as soon as we get it into a shop.

Some shots of the airframe and you can see some cosmetic issues on the leading edges and those will be corrected along with any worn items as soon as we book a shop. Don't let that stop you from making a move because it probably won't be on the market very long.

This IV-P came out of annual condition inspection with the same professional shop used for the last 11 years. Everything is in excellent shape. We decided to leave the cosmetics as-is to show the airplane as it has weathered the last 1000 hours. There are some leading edge paint issues to deal with and the new owner will get that done at one of the three paint shops we have available. When we get done with it, it will be even prettier. LancairTalk and partners can fast-track a new G3X panel if the new owner wants one but the existing Chelton IFR panel is solid and ready to go now. The owner has Chelton spares are on the shelf and there is no need to change the panel. It works perfectly and the new owner can hop in and fly for a year before the next annual.

This beautiful IV-P is being sold with interesting features:
1) LancairTalk will work with the buyer to obtain insurance. Do not call your aviation insurance broker. LancairTalk will assist you to get proper quotes and reasonable premiums. Do not call Gallagher or Falcon for a quote, we can't help you if you do that.

2) LancairTalk will help arrange proper transition training and there will be a credit from the seller for proper IV-P training. You have lots of choices for training.

3) There are cosmetics on the airframe that are scheduled again to be done in one of the three top Lancair paint shops when time permits. Sale of this aircraft will include that work at the first available date or a credit for the buyer to do that work after purchase. Currently, scheduled for spring 2022.

4) This sale is eligible for expedited G3X panel conversion if desired. LancairTalk will have harness and panel built and all Garmin avionics are available except the GTNs which are now scheduled spring 2022. We will use temporary GTNs or GNS-530W and swap them out when the GTNs are ready. Pricing will be very attractive and timing will beat all other avionics shops if order is placed concurrently with sale of this aircraft. Call for more details on the G3X optional conversion and pricing/timing.

This is a LancairTalk Assisted transaction. LancairTalk handles everything for the owner including documents, escrow and marketing plus we'll help you navigate insurance and training. Six newly repaired cylinders are on this engine today and the break-in for this 200 SMOH engine is underway. It turns out that the valve guides from Barrett were not up to spec. The owner properly sent the cylinders back under warranty a few months ago. The cylinders came back and were thoroughly dissected by the owner's FBO A&P who had looked after this plane since day #1.

The overhaul shop had apparently blamed a bad fuel setup from the A&P for cylinders woes. When the cylinders were returned from repair the guides were found to be out of spec and the six cylinders returned to Barrett (again). Now, back on the break-in flight today at 15,000 full rich is 263 TAS.

As the break-in progresses and altitudes increase we should see about 280 KTAS.

This is a terrific airplane, eligible for a G3X retrofit in March 2022 but entirely ready to go today IFR, pressurized and fully inspected. We're going to raise prices at the end of the year to deal with lack of inventory. The owner will be booking a G3X conversion and once that happens the price will increase again in preparation for Sun-n-Fun and Oshkosh.

Don't forget: Do not call Gallagher or any other broker before talking to LancairTalk. Transition training is included in this transaction and we'll get assured insurance coverage at the best rates for qualified pilots.

This beautiful IV-P is about to get a price increase as market demand increases and the number of pistons drops to less than one third of typical inventory. There is nothing in the market that goes this fast, pressurized, AC, IFR, autopilot, all logs and build logs and corporately maintained for the last decade (and available)!

Barrett just sent back the six cylinders that had been fixed under warranty. that makes the engine 200 SMOH and the cylinders zero since repair, both Barrett. During the break-in flight yesterday, owner ran FULL RICH and still had a TAS of 260KTAS. Inflight photo attached.

We expect this Lancair to true out in the flight levels in the 280KTAS area.

The body has some cosmetics to touch up and we're scheduled at Brad's in the new year. A G3X panel is planned but this Lancair is IFR and ready to go and fly. Once the panel is done, then a 2-week interruption gets a new G3X panel.

Move now if you are thinking of a IV-P. All of the other ones coming on LancairTalk will be much higher price points. Remember, this airplane includes transition training and the cosmetics update in the new year at Brad's and a special price and timing on a G3X panel upgrade. For qualified pilots, we can obtain insurance in the LancairTalk/Wings Insurance private forum but do not call any broker especially Gallagher or Falcon or Rukavina or Avemco or others. If you do, your ability to source a competitive quote may be limited or unavailable. Work with us first and LancairTalk/Wings can get you numbers without getting blocked by the broker system.
