WTS: Legacy RG 2020 Maintained by FlightMetrics

Postby LancairTalk Sales » Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:57 am

Michael has another airplane coming so he has asked LancairTalk to exclusively assist in the sale of this spectacular 2020 Legacy RG. Michael is the second owner and the airplane is located near Redmond. N315WP has approximately 200 TT. It is factory built and Matt at FlightMetrics has been taking care of it for the last year in Redmond and making it perfect for the next owner. Make this picture your screen saver!

Work Invoices and logs are fully available to qualified buyers prior to inspection.

The marketplace for quality G3X Legacy models is quite limited. The last kit available on LancairTalk was picked up in 2023. Estimates to complete a new Legacy RG today to this pristine, new condition is 500-600k and we all know how that number grows but never shrinks. If you wanted to build one today the time to complete is at least 1-2 years minimum given all the delays for propellers, engines, materials and lack of skilled labor. If you doubt that just call Brad and get it straight from the build shop. You can fly today with this beautiful Legacy.

Cirrus owners continue to slog behind the Legacy 55 knots slower and paying 3x the price. That is the state of the new airplane marketplace. When you buy a Lancair, not only do you get the best speed for your dollar with this Legacy, operating costs for Lancairs continue to be a small fraction compared to aircraft with type certificates. LancairTalk estimates Lancairs incur only 10-20% of the cost per mile of a Cirrus and does that way faster. While other brands depreciate quickly, we're not seeing that with Lancairs. Lancair prices, Legacy airframes in particular, have continued to move upwards over the last 5 years. They are the hidden gems in high-performance experimental aircraft.

N315WP is a premium Legacy for those who want to fly today with everything in perfect condition, new and with the latest Garmin G3X avionics. Here are the main things to consider:

Insurance: Contact us for Legacy-specific confidential advice through our Wings partnership. DO NOT CALL A BROKER. If you call a broker and tell them you are possibly buying a Legacy you may be unable to obtain coverage. Definitely do not call Gallagher, AVEMCO, Rukavina, Falcon or any other broker. You've been warned. Read the insurance forum on LancairTalk for the background on why you should not call a broker for a Lancair quote. Work with LancairTalk and get the best information and coverage options available.

Training: For qualified pilots(1), training is included with this purchase. One option would be to conduct training in the Redmond area then fly home or perhaps fly home and train enroute. We have lots of options and qualified FAA CFIs who are available to conduct Legacy training, ferrying and mentor pilot options. In Canada, if someone wants to import this Legacy, we have qualified type-rated pilots who can assist. In Canada, all Lancairs require a type-rating.

Call or email to talk about this Legacy. Offers are welcome. All transactions are managed by LancairTalk and all funding is performed through Aerotitle as escrow agent. For insurance, we will put you in touch with Wings for a confidential market assessment. LancairTalk gets nothing from Wings but our experience is that nobody does better for LancairTalk members.

Here is a quick rundown of N315WP. Call to access the full set of logs and photos and work invoices on dropbox.

(1) Generally, insurers want to see a minimum of 500 hours total time and IFR. 1000 and Commercial is better for rates. High time airline and other pilots still need Legacy-specific training and that is offered as part of this transaction. Training in a Legacy is amazing and fun and safe and can be accomplished very quickly. Call for more information about training programs for this Legacy.

How come the FAA doesn’t show an airworthiness date for this airplane?
Just curious
