from a TSIO-550-E
The possible sources I have tried include the factory/AirPower and every stateside salvage yard - which are TNTL (too numerous to list) so this would likely only be answered by someone with a bunch of engine parts or an engine they are parting out. I wish I could be more hopeful about this.
I am using a correction scale on my current dipstick.

HI, Bryan. I have a similar issue. During my engine overhaul, I had the choice between an 8 quart pan on the IO-550N and a 12 quart pan. The engine came from a wrecked Cirrus, with the 8 quart pan. The IO-520 pan, which I got used, is a 12 quart pan, and fits fine, also providing a larger oil quantity. As with you, I have used a conversion scale for the 8 quart dipstick, but would prefer a properly marked dipstick. There are at least a few companies I found on the internet that will fit a custom dipstick. I haven't pulled the trigger on this project yet, but intend to do so soon. If you decide to do that before I do, please let me know what you find, and I'll do the same if I get there first. Jim

If my memory is correct, the oil filler tube and caps differ between the 550 and the 520. So it may not be just a matter of finding a 520 dipstick. I’ll make a serious dive into the solution fairly soon, probably at next oil change, so that I can double-check my measurements. I am told emphatically not to try to re-mark dipsticks, however, as mechanical etching may encourage stress cracking and possible failure.

I checked Dodson also. They have dipsticks but not that part number,

Thanks, Dave. Those numbers correspond closely to my measurements. Did the charts come from TCM? Jim

Dave: Have you considered having your 616-1 dipstick laser engraved on the back side of the blade? Without looking, my memory is that the -1 dipstick I have is engraved on only one side. That has been suggested to me by a company that builds dipsticks. They don't do experimental work, but have been very helpful. They say that their laser etching equipment is really no different from a trophy engraving shop, and will not change the properties of the blade. Jim
