I am in need of the inflatable canopy seal for a Legacy. The seal part number is 4940-01
I actually need the whole kit (door seal pump, pressure switch, etc.), but if I can get just the seal, sourcing the other parts seems doable.

Jason,
I got a quote for a IV door seal several years ago from this gentleman:
Guy Ginby
800=556-3160
N77GB@MSN.ComGuy makes a lot of Bonanza/Beech parts and they good quality - a lot of silicone fabrication.
Give him a call to see if he can do the Legacy.

hi Henry, as background, I tried a couple of times to stock from Guy but he was erratic and expensive in his offers to help LancairTalk member in pricing and mix. Then, another owner organized a vendor but did a separate deal and that minimized any benefits for placing a large order through LancairTalk.
If you can have them made efficiently, LancairTalk can place orders for all the models. You are welcome to do that if it makes sense for you. Place all advertising for parts in the Classifieds area and a reminder for people searching to place all "wants" in the WTB area of the Classifieds.
Thanks for your help.

Guy must use a slightly different compound (or did). I tried to install a seal from him a few years back but it was just too stiff.

Do a search and find the member who bought a batch of IV-P seals. there was contact data and vendor info. if you want help then create a topic and get some people committed as there are some Legacy folks who have asked but it is not a viable item here unless we can find a vendor.
The raw materials (inflatable silicone channel) can be sourced easily in bulk. It takes some ultrasonic welding or fusing to close the ends and add the inflator. It is easily done by a small shop or builder here if someone has those skills. If someone has background knowledge to help please let us know. Good luck.
