WTB “Lancair” labeled altimeter, VSI and turn coordinator

Postby J Wales » Sat Sep 07, 2019 2:42 am

With all of the EFIS upgrades over the last few years, there must be plenty of the above referenced altimeters floating around at good prices. This is to match the “Lancair” airspeed indicator I installed a couple of years ago. Please PM me if you have a serviceable unit you don’t mind parting with. I’ve edited the subject to include the three other steam gauges in the panel. Thank in advance!

The only Lancair labeled one that was in my airplane was the airspeed indicator. Can't say I have seen the others labeled but also can't say I am an anybody

Tristan, you may be correct that there aren’t any others. But I thought I’d seen some during my time looking at others older panels. Let’s see if someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in?

Mine are still in use despite the migration towards glass. I have Lancair labelled
ASI, VSI, and Altimeter.

Great news Chris, should yours come up missing, you’ll know where to look!! :rofl2:
So I guess that means I’m looking for an Altimeter and a VSI. I can’t believe there isn’t a turn coordinator with a Lancair logo!

You could always take yours to an instrument overhaul shop and have them make and install the labels. I know, it's not the same as having the vintage originals, but do you care?

Thanks David. Danny, with the number being pulled for upgrades there is bound to be some floating around at a good price. Since this is a want rather than a need, I can be patient. I’d actually like an altimeter with a drum readout where the dial only reads 100s of feet. I flew with those for years and prefer them so I might opt to go that route rather than the Lancair labeled ones. I’ll see what crops up. Thanks for all the feedback though.
